I was initially interested in purchasing a specific worksite radio, but the price quickly turned me off. Instead, I decided to build my own boombox. The design features flanges on each face to create a mating surface, with each face laminated using one of two 3D-printed molds. To speed up the process, I applied wet cloth directly to the mold without using any bagging techniques. As a result, I was able to laminate all six faces in about four days.
The electronics were sourced from a kit from Parts Express, a company specializing in automotive audio components, and were installed within a single afternoon.
This project was both enjoyable and rewarding. The boombox has proven to be reliable and easy to maintain.
