My ski's top sheets were delaminating, but this was an easy fix using the equipment I've collected over the past year. To repair the skis, I created a vacuum envelope and applied West System epoxy beneath the top sheet as best as I could. I then wrapped the area with peel ply and breather before pulling the vacuum envelope over the ski like a sock. I applied a vacuum pressure of -20 inches of mercury and let the ski sit for about eight hours.
If I were to do this project again, I would use a syringe to inject the epoxy under the top sheet rather than a spreader. I don’t believe my method of applying epoxy was thorough enough to reach deep into the area under the top sheet. Pictures below.
